About George Covin Jr.

George retired a Lt Colonel after serving for more than 20 years in the United States Air Force, and in that time, relocated 11 times to different cities, large and small, throughout America and the World. No matter where he lived, be it a house, apartment, or even a 10 by 10 bunk while deployed to the desert, he was sure to put together a place that was comfortable and beautiful. A place to relax, a place be proud of, and most importantly, a place to call home. While picking up an entire household and settling in a new location every couple years can be quite a challenge, George saw it as an opportunity to once again do one of the things he enjoyed most, customize and improve his home and surroundings through interior design and decorating. It wouldn’t be long before neighbors and friends would comment, “I think you should do this for a living” followed by, “Can you come do my house next?” George was always happy to oblige and revamped many kitchens, living rooms, family rooms, bedrooms, offices, and dining rooms throughout the years. His design and decorating experience even extends to several military offices, lounge areas, and one of the most technically challenging, the control cab atop an air traffic control tower.

Upon retiring from the military in 2011, George decided to turn his passion into a career and started his own business, House of George Interior Decorating and Consulting. George currently holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of Washington and a Masters of Aeronautical Sciences degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is currently working towards a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Portland.
